High Speed Computing: The Micromac PerformerPro accelerator replaces the relatively low processing speed of the 7.8MHz 16-bit 68000 processor of the Macintosh Plus, SE or Classic with the high performance speed of a 32-bit 32MHz 68030 processor and a 64KB cache for a speed increase up to 600%. The 64KB cache serves as a high speed local storage buffer for frequently used data, thus significantly boosting CPU throughput.

Add an FPU: The PerformerPro accelerator also accepts an optional 32MHz 68882 FPU (math coprocessor) that performs math calculations up to 1200% of the original speed of your Macintosh. An FPU is ideal for math intensive calculations in such applications as spreadsheets or filtering effects in graphic programs. The PerformerPro is perfect for the home and small business where word processing, spreadsheet analysis, database management and Email communications are everyday tasks.

System and Tools Requirements: Macintosh Plus, SE or Classic with System 6.0.7, 7.0 or 7.1, optional anti-static grounding strap (available at most computer hardware stores) and torx screwdriver and case spreader (or medium flat-blade screwdriver) to open the computer's case.

Installation: Installation is easy and takes approximately fifteen to thirty minutes (depending upon which Macintosh model you own). Simply open your Macintosh as explained and shown in the fully illustrated Installation Manual, obtain access to the logic board (motherboard) and plug in the PerformerPro accelerator. On the Macintosh SE the accelerator plugs into the processor direct slot (PDS) while on the Macintosh Plus and Classic the accelerator plugs into a clip (which is included) that is installed onto the existing 68000 processor on the logic board. Software installation consists of dragging one INIT (System Extension) from the accompanying Start-up disk to your System Folder.
