Maximum Performance: The MicroMac 7500/8500 Logic Board Trade-up provides you with a variety of new powerful hardware resources: processor card slot for 601, 604, 604e, MACH5 and G3 single or dual processor card Eight DIMM socket for a maximum memory capacity of 1GB Audio/Video expansion connector four VRAM DIMM sockets for up to 4MB of VRAM Cache Connector for Level-2 Cache DIMM System and Tool Requirements: In order to install the new logic board you need a flat-bladed screwdriver and a Phillips head screwdriver and optionally an antistatic grounding strap (available at most computer hardware stores). Logic Board Installation: The installation of the new 7500/8500 logic board takes about 45 minutes. If you can install memory SIMMs or DIMMs you can perform this upgrade. An illustrated tour of the installation process when upgrading from a 7200-series logic board to the 7500-series logic board is available. What else do I need before I upgrade?: The 7500/8500 logic board requires a minimum of 2MB of VRAM, that is at least two 1MB VRAM DIMMs. (The 7200 logic board only requires 1MB of VRAM, which is soldered onto the logic board.)
